Embrace convenience: Register to use the City’s emailed account service
24 August 2024
The City encourages residents to embrace the future and sign up to receive emailed accounts. This is the most convenient and reliable way to receive municipal accounts. By making the switch, residents will receive their accounts via email, and not via the post. Residents can sign up for the service by registering via e-Services on the City’s website, or by sending an SMS request. Approximately 418 757 account holders have already signed up for emailed accounts.
‘The City is committed to providing residents with the most efficient and convenient service and we are encouraging more residents to make the switch to receive their municipal accounts via email. Residents and businesses can sign up for the City service via e-Services or by SMSing the City.
‘Thus far, we have more than 418 000 customers making use of the service. By making emailed accounts a part of your life, you are not only helping to protect the environment, but you also get to enjoy the numerous benefits that make your life easier,’ said the Mayoral Committee Member for Finance, Councillor Siseko Mbandezi.
Emailed accounts have a number of benefits including:
• Improved efficiency – emailed accounts saves time and customers can pay their accounts as soon as they are able to
• Reduced errors – customers are able to better track their payments
• Reduced environmental impact – reducing paper waste benefits our environment and city
• Reduced costs – emailed accounts eliminates the need for paper and other related service and postal delivery costs
